Currently the Cinematics Director at Motive Studio in Montreal, Darryl Purdy brings over 25 years of experience in the animation industry. He has worked on iconic games like Rise, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Halo 3, Far Cry 3 and most recently, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Darryl’s expertise spans both gaming and VFX, making him a versatile and knowledgeable director and mentor. His deep understanding of motion capture and cinematic storytelling will provide acting students with invaluable insights into the world of digital performance and animation. About Pascal

Pascal has been building the Mocap Vaults community in Montreal and Toronto for over four years. A passionate advocate of embodied acting practices Pascal has always been driven to persue a north star of total physical, emotional and psychological transformation into any character or creature. Mocap is the ideal platform to develop such techniques, tried and tested in games such as Heavy Rain (NVGTR Best Performance Nominee), Far Cry(s), Assassins Creed(s) and Watchdogs Legion (Canadian Game Award Voice Nominee). With expertise in nonverbal behavior, Laban movement, voice and storytelling, as well as having been a business developer for a Facial Capture company, Pascal has worked with animators, casting directors, and as a movement director understanding from both sides of the camera what it takes to ensure every second tells a story for the player.

More Details:

• You will not be captured by the mocap system. You will be in a mocap suit and recorded from multiple angles and frame sizes as decided by the director.

• You must register with enough time to learn your provided scripts well.

• While other students are on deck you may be expected to help with camera moves and provide other practical assistance to the director.

• For your comfort in the mocap suit wear close fitting supportive underwear and a t-shirt.

• You will receive your data as soon as is practical before the end of the month. We do not store you data after we have delivered it.

To avoid the incorrect navigation info provided by Google maps, you can enter “Mairie Villeray-Parc Extension” as the destination (our studio is at the back of the building). You need to go through the parking lot to Entrance B at the back. The attached site map will help you to find the entrance.

 ARRIVAL AND PARKING

If you are arriving with a vehicle, there is reserved parking for Game On visitors right outside the entrance at the back of the building. If the parking gate is not open, press the button and tell security that you are a guest of Game On. Sometimes it takes a minute to answer but they will eventually let you in. 

CANCELLATION POLICY: By purchasing this class you agree to our cancellation policy which states that we require a minimum of seven days notice in order to qualify for a full refund. We will attempt to replace you in the event of a cancellation. If are able to replace you, you will receive a refund minus admin fee that amounts to 25% of your original payment for the class.. If you cancel within 7 days of the class and we cannot replace you, you will not receive a refund. Paypal have recently changed their terms and conditions and will no longer refund their transaction fees. This means that you will be receive the total, minus the Paypal fee, in the event of a refund.
